Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)

Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) is a system of planning for wellness and recovery using only what works for the individual. In a group setting, participants learn to identify when they’re doing well and not well, make a plan for keeping themselves well, and prepare for possible crisis.

Legislative Advocacy Training

Legislative Advocacy Training is for individuals interested in learning to advocate for mental health, substance use, and other social issues in state legislature.

Peer Support Specialist Training

CMWN’s Peer Support Specialist Training is for individuals living in recovery from mental health and substance use conditions who want to give back to people in early recovery by providing mutual support, service system navigation, and other services. The training is only open to people who have been in recovery for one year or more.

Ending the Silence

Ending the Silence is a mental health education program in which young adults present educational material and personal testimony about what it was like to be a youth with a mental health condition. This is an interactive, audience-engaging presentation that opens for discussion and questions. It is designed for high school students and is typically offered in a health, science, or psychology class.

In Our Own Voice Mental Health Education Program

In Our Own Voice is a public education program in which people who have mental health conditions present a 15 minute video and give personal testimony about what it’s like to live with a mental health condition. This is an interactive, audience-engaging presentation that opens for discussion and questions.

Community Workshops

The Family Tree offers community workshops to increase awareness of domestic violence and teach others how to support people experiencing abuse. Audiences can include helping professionals, faith communities, and community groups. Youth workshops are also available for individuals aged 12-18, and focus on healthy relationship development and how to identify abusive behavior. Community workshops are free and can be delivered in English or Spanish. Please contact them for more information.

NoStigmas Project

The NoStigmas Project allows people to share their story in whatever form they see fit, whether its through writing, dancing, singing, painting, or any other art form. Selected projects are displayed at the annual Celebrate Life Wellness Fair in Chicago.

Health Topics

Health Topics at Guard Your Health are articles and information about a variety of health conditions, health behaviors, and wellness topics, including substance use and mental health along with women’s health, sexual health, sleep health, and a wide variety of other special topics.

Health Tools

The Health Tools at Guard Your Health are a great way to assess your health and wellness behaviors and self-screen for common conditions like depression and anxiety. They have a variety of calculators including hydration, calcium intake, smoking savings, and alcohol spending as well as risk assessments for colorectal cancer, radiation exposure, hepatitis, and diabetes.

Mental Health Family Tree

Use the Mental Health Family Tree to help you identify how mental health symptoms appear in your family members and help you decide if you are at risk or in need of professional services. May also be used to demonstrate to loved ones that mental health conditions are partly genetic and there is no shame in having one.
