SafeCare Colorado

The SafeCare Colorado program is a free service for parents and caregivers of children ages 5 and under. Participants work with a parent support provider to learn parenting skills, how to manage difficult behaviors, how to strengthen the parent-child relationship, and how to identify and remove common household hazards to make the home safer for children. SafeCare Colorado providers free items like electrical outlet covers, door latches, and a health manual.

Domestic Violence Outreach Program

The Family Tree offers peer support groups for individuals experiencing or who have experienced domestic violence. Please contact them for more information.

Find a Support Group

The Find a Support Group tool lists local support groups for people who have lost a loved one to suicide or have survived an attempt themselves. A short list of online support gorups is also posted below the tool.

Sexual Assault Survivors Group

The Sexual Assault Survivors Group is a curriculum-based, therapist-led support group for woman-identified survivors of adult sexual assault. The 2-hour sessions are $65 per person and run for a total of 16 weeks.

Camp Erin Denver

Camp Erin is a free overnight bereavement camp developed by The Moyer Foundation for children and teens aged 6-17 who have experienced the death of someone close to them. The weekend-long experience is filled with traditional, fun, high-energy camp activities combined with grief education and emotional support led by grief professionals and trained volunteers of Shimmering Wings. It also provides an opportunity for peer onding between children and teens facing similar life circumstances.

Grief Support for Adults

This 4-week program is designed for people who have unresolved grief from a loss in childhood. Because many children are not granted the space to process their feelings about the loss, some adults find that they need to process these feelings in later life. This program enables these adults to talk about, understand, and be supported by others with similar childhood experiences.

Grief Support for Children

This program is designed for children aged 6-12 who are experiencing grief and their parent/guardian. The structured 8-week program helps children through their feelings around grief and helps them to identify individual and family strengths. Sessions incorporate crafts, story-sharing, discussions, and other activities in a safe, supportive environment. This is offered in tandem with a therapist-led upport group for the parent/guardian in a nearby room.

Connections

Connections is for families who have graduated from the Pathfinders group and wish to continue recieving mutual support and growing connections with other families.

Pathfinders

Pathfinders is a 10-week program that uses art, play, and activities to reach each person. While youth are in their groups, caregivers discuss the challenges of raising grieving children and recieve support for their own grief. This group provides education, coping skills, caregiving skills, and peer support.
